- Accidental or intentional guest damage
- Damage to rental contents
- Smoke damage in non-smoking properties
- Unauthorized parties
- Damage caused by service animals
- Excessive cleaning costs
- Replacement of broken or ruined home accessories
- New towels and linens to replace excessively soiled ones
❌ Not Protected:
- Loss of income (e.g., if a guest can’t stay due to damage, host-imposed fees, etc.)
- Any pet damage, excluding service animals
- Authorized parties (if approved by the host, damages fall under the host’s responsibility)
- General wear & tear (things that naturally degrade over time like faded paint or worn carpets)
- Acts of nature (flooding, earthquakes, etc.)
- Cosmetic damage not affecting functionality
- Credit card chargebacks
- Routine maintenance issues not caused by guests (e.g., a clogged drain, HVAC failure, leaks not caused by guests)
- Liability claims (we cover property damage, but not personal injury liability)
